Your Bro Chad, 2018

Your Bro Chad was an interactive museum style installation that involved small groups of "guests" engaging with and learning from "Chad," my alter ego.  "Chad" was, in essence, the dossier and led the museum guests through a series of activities in order to learn the customs, attitudes, and habits of the typical American "bro."  At the end, they were all granted name tags with Chad's name inscribed on them and the option to take a photo as Chad.

This piece served as a personal diary to showcase some of the ways I felt I needed to conform during my transition from a female to male.  In many ways, Chad pokes fun of the nuances of male "customs" in the U.S. culture, but as a way for us to examine how men behave when around other men and why this is necessary.
